How Do I Add More Reading Challenges?

Hawaii Reads (#HIReads) is our statewide challenge loaded for all schools in School Year 2021-22. School managers have the option to provide additional reading challenges for their schools to keep readers interested.

Celebrate Hawaiian Voices includes links to online resources so that students can read the writings of our monarchs from Kamehameha I through Liliʻuokalani.

Zoobean-Created Challenges with varied themes are offered periodically. There are also some ongoing challenges that your readers may find appealing.

To enable any of these challenges

log in as school manager and choose Administrative Access.

1. Go to Challenges and choose Challenge Templates.

2. Click the search button at the top right, enter a keyword from the title of the challenge, and click Search.

3. Click on Use This Template, or choose Preview to learn more about the challenge before you enable it.

 4. Edit the name of the challenge to remove the words "Copy Of" at the beginning.

5. Scroll down to edit the beginning and ending dates of the challenge, and click the button to "Feature this challenge on your landing page" so your readers can find it.

6. In the top right corner, change Draft to Published, then choose Save and Exit.

7. The challenge will appear for your readers on your home page and when they log in.
