Please reference the following guide to upload a MARC-export file to Titlewave, Perma-Bound, or other vendor's website for collection development analysis.
LS2 MARC Export and Collection Development
Login to TLC Support and create a ticket (request) for a MARC export. Make sure to specify to exclude any of the following, inappropriate holdings codes:
schoolcodeTB (textbooks)
schoolcodeEQU (equipment)
schoolcodeWD (withdrawn)
schoolcodeEBK (eBook, eAudiobook, and other electronic resources)
2) When the MARC-export file (.mrc) is received, download (save) it to your desktop or other computer storage location/folder.
3) Login to Titlewave, Perma-Bound, or other online collection development tool. Follow instructions to upload the MARC-export file.
Titlewise Analysis Notes (titlewave.com):
Choose the following Circulation System Information:
Revise Holdings Location Information to Field: 949, Call Number Subfields: bc, Barcode Subfield: g, Your Library Holdings Code: (empty box), subfield: a.
Alternate Call Number Location to Field: 082, Call Number Subfields: a
NOTE: If you would like to include the ebooks from OverDrive in your analysis, please update your Titlewave settings to include "ebooks" as a classification. This will reduce the "Incomplete Call Numbers" poor integrity percentage.
- Login to Titlewave and go to the analysis section. Click on "Settings. This will take you to the set up portion of your Titlewise analysis.
- Click “Next” twice, until you get to the screen that looks like the image below.
- In the next empty box, type “ebook.”
- Then type “EBOOK” in the Starts with box. In the next empty box, type “audiobook”.
- Then type “EAUDIOBOOK” in the Starts with box. Then click Next and Finish.
- Your analysis will be re-run with the new call number information and you should see much better integrity results. This will also allow you to view your ebooks and audiobooks as their own category in your analysis.
